GENERAL GUIDELINES
-
All entertainment should fit in a Celtic,
fantasy, folk, or medieval/renaissance context. If you are unsure if
your show/act is appropriate, please do not hesitate to ask.
-
You should be at the festival and ready to
setup at least one hour before your performance time. All performers
are encouraged to stay through the end of the faire day to participate
in the pub sing.
-
Please make an effort to stay in character
while interacting with or in viewing/hearing range of the patrons. This
is important to the ambience of the faire. All performers should be in
period/fantasy costume both on and off stage.
-
All patrons should be made aware of the rating
(G, PG, PG-13, R) of your show prior to beginning. Remember that our
festival is a family event, and parents should have the option of
removing their children if they deem the entertainment to be
inappropriate for them.
-
There is no electricity available. Performers
are responsible for supplying and maintaining any and all equipment
they might need, excepting the stage. The Wild Rose Renaissance Faire
assumes no liability for damaged, lost, or stolen equipment.
If your show involves the possibility of danger to yourself or others
(weapons, acrobatics, etc), you should have some sort of liability
insurance. A $1,000,000 general liability policy is standard.
Here is one source that specializes in faire-participant insurance - http://www.specialtyinsuranceag
ency.com/.
Wild Rose Renaissance Faire is not
responsible for any damage you may do to yourself or others.
-
You may be sharing your stage with other
performers throughout the day. You may store your equipment there
provided it is in some sort of enclosed box, especially if it could be
deemed dangerous (swords/knives/torches/etc.) Plastic tubs covered with
a cloth work very well for this. PLEASE DO NOT TOUCH/DISTURB OTHER
PERFORMERS' BELONGINGS AND EQUIPMENT. If it is in your way, please
notify a member of faire staff prior to your stage time.
-
Because we are a new faire with a small
budget, compensation/incentives will be discussed on a case-by-cases
basis. Part of the package offered to all performers who can put on two
or three shows a day or who join the main cast is the offer of free
vendor booth space. If you have an appropriate art, craft, or service
that you would like to sell, please let us know!
-
Please read and fill out the vendor guidelines
and application, and note that some leeway will be given to performers
who wish to vend as compensation (CDs, videos, teeshirts, and other
non-renaissance souvenirs of your show will be allowed. Please inquire
about anything else) We'll make sure your booth is situated near the
stage on which you'll be performing. It will also be noted in the
program that tipping is both welcome and encouraged. Other forms of
compensation will be negotiated individually.
For further information, or to check on the status
of your application, or if you have any questions or concerns, contact
Jessica Cowan at 814-964-0501, or by email imaginations_flight@yahoo.com
